I think you are exaggerating a bit. Every major website had some issues in the past and will have in the future also. Twitter is not fully grown up and I am sure they will repair all their flaws, just don't loose your trust in them yet.

But Twitter is free. And why do you depend on it to work. To me its a cute way to communicate and share but severely limited. It is also filled with massive clutter and spam. I only view maybe 15-20% of tweets sent my way and I only follow 105 accounts. When it freezes I really don't care since it is free and I don't need it or depend on it. I would be more concerned over privacy and behavioral targeting issues that network reliability. The location based technology scares the crap out of me. 1] I don't want random people knowing where I am 2] I don't want businesses I am near to be able to send me an onslaught of advertisement I didn't ask for.
