The Life of a Professional Blogger

Darren Rowse, Professional Blogger, and a speaker that will be on the Blogonomics Cruise, has posted about a typical day in the life of a professional blogger. Darren tells us that this is not how every day goes, but for the most part it is a typical professional blogging day.

I actually am interested in how this “typical day” changes as he gets closer to the birth of their expected bundle of joy. We all refer to the first one as a bundle of joy, and the remaining ones, well….you get the idea. With 4 kids 6 and under at Turner household, I can assure you that my professional blogging day is similar to Darren’s, but I have to add in a 3-4 minutes of child shepherding about every 15-20 minutes. Just as you thought you had time for a long spot of writing, the crash in the next room occurs and there goes that perfect idea for a thought provoking blog post.

Good luck Darren, and next summer as you are in your garden, try not to step on that child underfoot. It will be the little person with mud in its mouth and worse yet at the other end. Mark this day on your calendar, and see if on that day your IM conversation is with your wife because you are both too exhausted and busy to actually have a real conversation!
