No, I am not talking about getting on one knee and popping the question to your sweetheart, although I would remind you we are a week from Valentine’s Day. I am talking how you handle a request for a proposal for your services. I have written and prepared a number of written proposals here recently and each time I wonder if it is the winning combination and if it will win me that potential client’s business. Sometime I think I have hit a home run only to come up short and other times have really bombed and yet was signing a contract the next day.
I recently found an article written by Ben Yoskovitz at Instigator blog that talks about this very type of proposal and how to make them a winner. I have adopted some of these ideas but there are a few new ones that I think I’ll try on the next proposal to see if I can’t get that elusive contract signed.
This was a really good post and a great reminder for all of us that are service providers – web or otherwise.
