Getting that bloggy buzz, gee is it this simple?

Is getting talked about on blogs as simple as this?

How To Get Bloggers To Talk About You

Yeah, maybe so.  Okay not really.  IMHO, there is a lot of luck involved.  Yes, luck.  Sometimes you have something killer.  Something people will love, but for some reason you can’t breakthrough into the blogosphere.  Wait, then maybe is it the product?  Well, sometimes.  Really what I’ve found is that the people behind the product haven’t taken the time to go to conferences, comment on blogs, write a blog or do the networking needed to get it going.  When I was with Qumana, I handed out CD biz cards like candy at conferences.  I showed freakin’ everyone the app and what it could do.  I carried flash drives around my neck so I could save people the trouble of downloading it.  Here, just copy it from my flash drive…

So my thinking is if you’re product isn’t getting talked about on the blogosphere, maybe it sucks, but maybe you’re not talking about it enough on the blogosphere…

Chew on that one for a bit.

Good advice Tris. An email to a blogger about a product does not a relationship build. It’s through the conversations and interaction that those links are developed.

Exactly. Seeing that a company has a blog is a huge first step. Also if they are monitoring the whole space and leaving good comments on posts talking about their niche is general is a really good thing.

Man why am I giving all this great advice away for free! ;)
