I am always amazed that the mainstream media always seem to leave out personal blogs whenever they talk about the best of blogs or the best of the internet. I grant you that Business Week would more than likely want to list the best of the business blogs or the best of the business internet tools, but again, we see the same tired categories of bloggers that seem to litter the awards sites, save for one different awards site, the Best of Blogs (BoB). Does anyone else think the picture used by Business Week looks eerily familiar?
The BoBs were started in December of 2004 to showcase the little blogs, those blogs that nobody has ever heard of, and the blogs that we all read but they don’t have thousands of readers a day. These are the undiscovered gems in the crown of the blogosphere. This year, we will again be undertaking the Best of Blogs 2005.
The BoBs as they have become known will be a number of blogs that are but a blip on the screen to most blog readers. They may have a very small following, but they have great bloggers that write well and provide something of a niche all their own. Do you know the best knitting blog out there? How about the best sports blog or perhaps the best photoblog? These are just a few of the great categories that will be showcased.
One By One Media, and Wiredhub.net are the title sponsors to the awards, but this year we will be looking for other sponsors to join in on the exposure of some of the greatest of the little blogs! With over 2700 nominations, and 150,000 visitors in 2 months, we hope that the momentum is carried over this year to even greater numbers! We will be looking for you this December!
